I spent days searching the internet for a convertible crib/dresser set that could grow with my son without breaking the bank, and I finally found this. I love that it is a regular looking dresser that can double as a changing table (more bang for your buck!). Now that it's set up, I have to say it surpassed my expectations and then some! The color is beautiful and it is VERY sturdy. It has drawer slides on both sides of each drawer so it runs smoothly. Each drawer is reinforced at the corners and the bottom. Everything but the drawer bottoms and the backing is solid wood. I was able to assemble it by myself, and the directions were very clear. It took me just over an hour, but that was with a power drill. There are probably about 100 screws to install, so I would HIGHLY recommend using a power drill to minimize time.
Overall, I would recommend this dresser to anyone. What an unbelievable buy for the price! I can't wait to get the matching crib! It is MUCH more than a children's dresser - this will last my son for years to come!

Based on the solid 4-star average reviewers gave this drawer unit, I purchased one for my son's bedroom. I am a former furniture installer and have built many, many different pieces of office and home furniture in the past. I know a thing-or-two about how furniture is made, so keep that in mind as you read this review. I also took the time to upload some images I took of the manufacturing defects I noticed--check them out if you like.
First, the good:
The external pieces of this unit are pretty decent. Good solid wood, well finished, without blemishes or material defects. I'd rate that "skin" of this unit a solid 7/10. Not quite top-shelf, but very nice at this price point.
The Bad:
Sadly, the "guts" of this unit are abysmal. The drawers use a standard build technique where the bottom of each slides into slots machine cut into the sides and front of the drawer. Unfortunately, glide hardware screwed into each side of the drawer are poorly aligned and the screws invade those narrow spaces. 3 of the 6 drawers had this issue, meaning to build them, I would have to modify the drawer base to accommodate them. Even if I did so, it would create a less stable drawer that would likely develop issues in the future.
The Ugly:
Some of the pre-assembled drawer fronts were literally held in place by no more that 3/16ths of a screw tip. Not nearly enough purchase to sustain repeated use. I noticed this when assembling on of the drawers and trying to tighten the piece down a bit as it seemed loose. It literally broke off as I tried to tighten it.
What makes this so terrible is that unless you discover the problem like I did, you will very likely build this entire unit only to have the drawers start falling off in the not-so-distant future. I can't believe they're trusting so little screw to hold an entire drawer together. Maybe I got a defective unit--if that's the case, this manufacturer needs to address their quality controls.
Overall:
I would never buy another one of these. I packed it up and it's heading back to Amazon. If you want to see the photos to see what I'm talking about, I've posted them for you.

We were very excited about this dresser and really wanted to like it but when we brought it home and started assembling it, the top board had a missing thread retainer, which would have resulted in this dresser being unsafe. We contacted Delta and they said they don't have the replacement part in stock but can have it delivered in about 3 weeks. Now more than two and half months later, we still have not received the replacement part and Delta's customer service just says that they don't have it in stock and cannot tell us when they will be able to get it. I have left a number of messages for their customer service supervisor, Gary, but the guy has yet to return a single phone call. What a way to treat a customer ! Have never been treated this way by any company where they simply choose to ignore a customer.
