Typical cheap furniture, looks fine for a year or so, then falls apart

We've had this for three years now, and we are ready to pitch it because half the finish has rubbed/chipped/worn off, several of the knobs have fallen off, and the drawers are a constant battle to get them to close properly.

It has served its purpose all this time, but like all cheap furniture you have to assemble yourself, you can't expect it to last forever. The next changing table we buy will be solid wood from a furniture store (if you can even find that anymore.)
