Received the product a few weeks ago. There were several puncture holes and tears in the box it was shipped in (shipped via UPS; I have had several items w/ damaged boxes and sometimes damaged goods that I have had to report that were shipped from them). No visible damage to the crib thank goodness. My advice, always take photos of the box/packaging if there's visible damage 'prior' to opening.
About the crib... My husband put it together by himself fairly quick. The color is gorgeous. A little deeper than an oak. The height for me is perfect. I am 5 ft tall and don't have to worry about standing or leaning too much on the crib like I had to with my son's delta crib b/c it's railings sat higher up. If you are a shorter person who is looking for a convertible crib in a lighter color I highly recommend this. However, if you are a tall person you might not like the height of the ralings and crib. It may put a lot of strain on your back, which after a cesarean is a horrible feeling. The detail on the crib is beautiful. From the ground to the top of the front rail it's approximately 35.5"; and to the top of the back of the crib it is ~ 40.5". The inside measurements appear to be approximately 27.5" x 52" (or 52.5"- will have to recheck this with some help). I have done some research on mattress dimensions on Amazon and other sites, andhave read a review stating that a Sealy crib mattress fit theirs perfectly. I will post an update once the mattress arrives. Just a reminder to those ordering cribs and mattresses online. Wait until the crib arrives if you are unable to get measurements for the inside of the crib for a mattress. Also, several cribs these days are made with a softer wood, unless you buy a high end ($$$$ expensive) all wood crib. What this means is impressions and indentations are easier to make in them than some other solid wood types. My son's delta crib had the same issues about easy indentation marks being left from bitting on the wood as several other people have remarked with several types of cribs. Having kids = some destruction of things.
****Update: I purchased a mattress on amazon (Sealy Baby Posturepedic Mattress). The dimensions for the mattress fit the crib perfect. Very snug fit with no gaps around the sides. My daughter has been a mover and would roll herself against the sides of her bumper. Since she was too little to move away I took the bumper off. She was then getting her leg caught between the bars when she rolled, so I invested in a mesh crib bumper. No issues with it. The material is soft and easy to breathe through (I did test it out myself). I bought one that fits any size crib. It came with 2 pieces, which i did some overlapping to eliminate gaps. As for using the Neptune Soother aquarium, it is best to put on the tall back side rails of the crib. I had it on the front and it was not secure, and actually fell. It was basically impossible to fit the straps around the front rail. But good on the back (same with my son's Delta crib too). The mobile we used, we attached to the side of the crib for a while. Then decided to put it on the back side of the crib. So far, no issues with the design/craftsmanship of the crib. Had to retorque the hex screws some (b/c my son loves to climb and pull on the rails & tell his sister good morning), but that was it.

We just received our crib yesterday. I was very hesitant to purchase a crib on-line, site unseen, with no store to take it back to.
So here goes:
1) Worry one, the crib would show up damaged.
It showed up with no major parts damage. It is packaged in a box inside a box separated by a 1/2 inch layer of Styrofoam. I say "no major damage" because some of the parts probably rubbed together in shipping and the white paint in a few small areas was worn down to the wood. Nothing a 2 minute touch up job couldn't take care of, and if you are not as anal retentive as I am it probably wouldn't even bother you not to touch it up.
2) Worry two, the crib would not be solid construction
The crib is solid wood construction, the only part that isn't real wood is the base under the mattress. It is some form of compressed composite. We purchased a solid wood crib in 2005 from Baby Depot for $400, there are subtle differences in the construction, but this crib seems as solid as the one from Baby Depot does. The differences are: The Stork Craft crib uses a allen screw with a cylinder lock bolt system for assembly, while my other crib has pressed in fitting with allen screws so the assembly is easier. Secondly, my original crib has a steel frame with support springs (think bed support for a pull out couch) to support the mattress, while the Stork Craft uses a piece of compressed fiber board made firm with two 1 by 1 pine boards. So I think this is the only weak point in the construction, but if my kid doesn't turn out to be Jaba-the-Hut or a Sumo wrestler it shouldn't be a problem. Additionally, this crib was $200 less than the other one, so I think the slightly weaker support is not a bad concession.
Final thoughts:
1) The directions aren't great, but it isn't hard to assemble. If you can point to the correct end of a screw driver you should have any problem. It assembles in about 30 minutes.
2) Some of the screw holes were not precisely drilled in the correct places, but if you put the screws in loose at first, then tighten the whole crib together you shouldn't have a problem.
3) If fits a standard crib mattress size.
Hope this helps you make your decision. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that I wasn't completely happy with the mattress support as discussed above.

What a wonderful piece of furniture at an excellent price! Very pleased with this product. The detailing is beautiful. It's much better in person & put together than I thought. Was expecting this to be a cheap crib, but when we received it & put it together in our daughter's nursery, it's perfect. Couldn't be more pleased with it. There's also no keeping up with the directions for when ready to change to a toddler bed, daybed, etc. They are glued to where the mattress is! Makes it even better! :
