Very nice option!

I tried out the SwaddleChange on a 3 month old, 8 month old, and 10 month old. It worked well on all except my 10 month old. He was able to wiggle his arms out right away. So I would recommend this product for 9 months and under but it really depends on your baby's personality. My 8 month old nephew is so mellow that this would work forever with him. :) This would make a great gift for a new or expectant mom. The material is VERY soft and I wish I would have had this when our son was a newborn. The only reason I gave this 4 starts instead of 5 is because the straps for the belt thread through the side of the changing pad cover. Our straps are located in the middle. So once you thread them down the side, through the holes, and back up, there is very little room left to buckle baby in. I don't know if all changing pads are made this way or just ours. Something to look for when purchasing your changing pad.

Waste of Money

I bought this because my eight month old has recently started trying to escape during diaper changes. I just needed something to keep him flipping and crawling away. Well, these do that but they just aren't worth it. The fabric is sewn on in such a way it's near impossible to get his onesie out of the way and the new diaper up high enough. I can't fathom how you would have room to change an even smaller baby. Speaking of the fabric- it's horrible. It's soooo cheap and thin. I have two other covers (Pottery Barn and Boppy brand) and they are a million times nicer. I should mention that despite his age my son still loves to be swaddled, I had him wrapped this afternoon. But he really isn't having it in this thing. The first time I used it he was in love, now it's like an added challenge and he tries even harder to escape. If the fabric were at least halfway decent I'd consider keeping it, but it just isn't worth it it's really that bad.

Good but not great

Our son didn't squirm and learned to love having his diaper changed (as soon as we learned to slow down and relax while changing him--our attitude makes a huge difference). This product came out when he was about six months old. It seemed perfect, because he was just starting to wriggle around a lot more when we were changing him. But the swaddle strip just isn't wide enough on this to help very much. He's a totally average-sized kid, across the board--height, weight, etc.--so I was really surprised that the swaddle was too narrow to keep his arms from popping right out above and below. I still use it, because he thinks the whole process is very funny, for some reason, but it mainly works as a distraction while I quickly wipe at whatever his hands might get into first. The width of the swaddle is definitely the problem--I tried making it tighter, but he cried, was visibly uncomfortable, and still got his arms right out. Once his arms are free, it does stop him from rolling over onto his stomach, which is helpful, but not as great as what Halo advertises. I don't think I would need this for newborns, unless the swaddle helped them feel more comfortable. Halo, if you read these reviews, make a SwaddleChange for bigger babies! Please!
