Unexpectedly Great!

I was originally looking for a cheap (while still safe) changing pad as I figured this was one item I didn't need to spend a lot of money on. Long story short, I was talked into buying this one. I was very surprised by how happy I was that I purchased it. It has all the standard features of a great pad (safety strap, supportive foam, includes a cover), and must be super comfortable as my infant seems happier on the pad than in his bassinet or crib. But the best thing for me was the toy bar. Over the past month, the baby has been entertained by the hanging animals and it has been fun to watch him learn to focus on them and now start reaching for them. And anything that keeps a squirming baby calm and happy during a diaper change is a good thing. The one reason I did not give it five stars is that after a month of use, the foam toy bar is starting to sag a bit. Not a huge deal now, but I will be keeping an eye on it to make sure it does not become a safety issue.

Cute idea...

It's such a cute idea, and when we first set it up, my newborn son really loved it and even tried to bat at the little animals! However, the bar that the toys dangled from was really cheap looking, and it really didn't stand up well. Within a few days of setting it up, the bar was sagging under the weight of the toys, and dangling them right over my son's face. A few more days and the bar was down. Straightening it up did no good, because the toy bar is made of a floppy, soft, styrofoam-like stuff, and it just flops right over again.

It's really too bad, because it's such a clever idea to have some entertainment during changing time. I wish it were a better item.

Great purchase!

This is such a great buy. It comes with a little mobile and a changing pad cover. Our little one loves this chaging pad and at two months she was trying to reach out to them and it would keep her occupied for awhile. (At times when I needed to do a quick spot clean around the house, I would lay this on the floor and put her in it and she would entertain herself with the mobile.) She is now five months and still loves the mobile. My only complaint is that after awhile now of having this, the foam bar that the critters are attached to doesn't stay up for long. All in all though I definitely recommend!
